Our KEMET stamp is a modern take on postage, while paying homage to Egypt's past.

Kemet was the name of Egypt before the Arab Conquest of the land and the name given to it in Coptic. The Coptic word Kemet is derived from the Demotic word kmi, spoken by ancient Egyptians meaning "the black land." The name was used to describe the cultivated area along the Nile valley, which was named for its rich and fertile black soil left behind after the annual Nile floods.

Below the word Kemet we have its translation written in Coptic, while the bust of King Tut beautifully at its center.

This stamp also includes usage of the Egyptian pound, also known as gineih, and  abbreviated in LE (Livre égyptienne, French translation for Egyptian Pound).
