ABOUT THE DESIGN: Growing up when we couldn't fall asleep our father's solution wasn't a bedtime story, but to sing us Coptic hymns. He'd lay next to us with his hand over the other and would begin a beat imitating cymbals and would sing and hum his favorite Coptic hymns to us until we fell asleep. Being raised on Coptic hymns was a gift of tranquility and peace that we cherish as a part of our Coptic upbringing. 

The front of our design features the most commonly sung Coptic hymn "Agios O Theos" written in the English alphabet as well as the Coptic translation in our own original font style. On the back a our original graphic inspired by the ivory inlaid woodwork of the Abu Serga church located in Coptic Cairo. The church was built in the 4th/5th century over a cave where the Holy Family is believed to have taken refuge in for several months and holds great significance to the Coptic community. This traditional Coptic pattern is found in the woodwork in Coptic churches around the world most commonly featured around the altar, we couldn't imagine a better pattern to symbolize the beauty of Coptic hymns.
