ABOUT THE DESIGN: During Coptic Orthodox liturgy, "Kyrie Eleison" (Lord, have mercy in Greek) is chanted 41 times during the Agpeya (Divine Liturgy) service, representing the 39 lashes Jesus received, plus one for the crown of thorns, and one for the spear in his side.
Coptic church services most commonly consist of Arabic, Coptic and Greek languages being spoken. Je Nai Nan is the Coptic language translation of "Lord, have mercy."
Our original "Kyrie Eleison" design and digitization includes the Coptic "Je Nai Nan" with "Kyrie Eleison" written in Coptic/Greek symbols at the center and the English translation below it.
